Kotlin Multiplatform
It's super exciting that the company I work at (Touchlab) and Jetbrains launched a brand new monthly podcast dedicated to Kotlin Multiplatform.
Events
- I learned about FOSDEM conference through my colleague Russell. It looks great. You should check it out if you're interested in open-source. I wish I knew about it before. Luckily, they have a YouTube channel to watch old videos! It already happened for 2022 just a week ago so, I will keep an eye on their YT for new videos.
- Android Worldwide is having another event in April. Call for Speakers is open until Feb 25. I've been thinking about giving a talk on mobile security, but not sure I'll be able to manage time to submit a talk before the deadline.
Security
- Application Security Podcast had a great episode with Neil Matatall. He shared amazing insights about the work at Github related to how they dealt with security around authentication while keeping user-friendliness in mind.
- Also learned about WebAuthn - the new web authentication standard. It was first published a few years back, and
First Public Working Draft
was launched last year. It looks very promising. More power towards password-less auth!
- Also learned about WebAuthn - the new web authentication standard. It was first published a few years back, and
- Good learning that Google's decision to enable 2FA by default cut account breaches by 50 percent
- Excited about 4-year security updates for newer Samsung devices! Are you listening, Google?
